ABOUT

A master Waldorf teacher of 45 years, David debuted his poetry collection—The Irresistible In-Between— published by Deerbrook Editions, in 2013.  He has also written two books on teaching:  Stages of Imagination: Working Dramatically with Adolescents (AWSNA Publications, 2000) and Life Lessons: Reaching Teenagers through Literature (AWSNA Publications 2007).  He continues to enjoy life's latest delight—grandparenting. 

In the Spring of 2020, David published his second poetry book —A Rising— also by Deerbrook Editions.

Education:

David graduated from Harvard University in 1971, with a degree in Government. He completed his teacher training at Emerson College in England in 1975, and completed his Masters in Fine Arts from the University of Southern Maine in 2009. 

Awards & Nominations:

His poetry has appeared in The Café Review, Chiron Review, The Cider Press Review, Confrontation, Crosswinds, Down East Magazine, Innisfree, Lascaux Review, Moon City Review, Naugatuck River Review, New Millenium Writings, Passager, and Third Wednesday among others. He received the 2012 Betsy Sholl Award, Maine Literary awards in 2012 and 2016, The Margaret F. Tripp Poetry Award, three Goodreads prizes, the inaugural Maine Poetry Society Award, and has been nominated for a Pushcart Prize.
